Forging Fraud For FEZANA
Note to the Reader: The following flier, with no name, address and/or
signature by the author/composer/publisher/distributor, was seen being handed
out by a number of persons, including Ervad Jal N. Birdy, President of the North
American Council of Mobeds and the Vice-President of the Traditional Mazdayasni
Zoroastrian Anjuman, within the premises of Marriott Hotel, Houston, before and
after the FEZANA Special Event, 31 December:
FEZANA FELICITATES A FRAUD
Houston,
Texas, December 30, 2000.
A great travesty is about to enfold. The Federation of Zoroastrian Associations
of North America (FEZANA) is about to felicitate a man, who has, at least for
the past ten years, willfully and repeatedly lied to the Zoroastrian community
as to his academic credentials and his city of birth. In his bid for fame and
fortune, Ali Jafarey has consistently misrepresented the teachings of
Zarathushtra, disputed the authenticity of over three millennia of tradition,
denigrated our priesthood and rituals, divided the community, and publicly
ridiculed the followers of our Faith.
HONORING
THE DISHONORABLE
Ali
Jafarey falsely claims to have a Ph.D. from the University of Karachi In Persian
Language and Literature, In 1954, yet FEZANA chooses to give him a
platform to spread his let.
Below is a letter from the Registrar of the University of Karachi, dated
December 18, 2000, stating that a Ph.D. degree has never been offered in Persian
Language and Literature to any individual and certainly not to Ali Jafarey.
Further, the Department of Persian does not even have a Ph.D. program. Other
letters obtained earlier from the Karachi University (along with) more proof of
this fraud are posted on the web page http://frontpage. netropolis. net/scottcom/
As to his claim of obtaining his Ph.D. in 1954, a visit to the website of the
University of Karachi, Persian Department at http://www.kudcs.edu.pk/dept/persian/courses.html
shows that the Persian department started only in 1955. How then, could
Ali Jafarey obtain a degree in that discipline in 1954?
Jafarey even lacks the moral conscience to admit his lie, and compounds his
errors by adding more false statements.
He claims to be a popular figure in the worldwide Zoroastrian community.
First
in the academic world, he is not considered a scholar. He has not collaborated
with any accredited scholar of Zoroastrianism, and none of his works have ever
been published in a peer-reviewed journal, nor has he been a visiting scholar at
or associated with any university or college.
Jafarey has NOT been invited to any major Zarathushti conference, including
World Zarathushti Conferences and North American Conferences, since 1991. He was
not even invited as a guest to the Sixth World Zoroastrian Congress in Tehran,
Iran in 1998.
In March 2000, he celebrated the 10th anniversary of the founding of his
Assembly. About 100 people attended the sessions, approximately 25 of which were
guest speakers. So much for this "popular" figure", capable of
drawing an audience of only 75 people from all over the world.
FEZANA now affords this fraud a podium at the worldwide community level, and
thereby validates and legitimizes Jafarey's deceit, fraud and lies, which steady
have gained cultic proportions.
Jafarey has made every effort to cause a rift between the Parsis and the Iranian
Zarathushtis; and between the reformists and the orthodox. His modus operandi is
to gain popularity by dividing our community.
A good Zoroastrian actively fights the lie and to uphold Truth at al levels.
Can we count on you to uphold the TRUTH?
DO
YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO LISTEN TO THIS LIAR
AND BE TAUGHT HOW TO FAKE THEIR ACADEMIC DEGREES?

Jafarey's Note
The photo copy of the above "newly obtained" letter dated 18 December 2000 [barely 8 days before the Congress!!!] from the University, addressed to the "applicant" with reference to his application, was made as a part of this last-minute flier after the comments were made by Mrs. McIntyre, Mr. Zal Dabhoiwala, and others doubting the first letter, 18 September 2000 by the university. Here is by Mr. Dabhoiwala's:
Now that the literary side of the matter has been dealt
with, we can get back to the factual side of the matter. As I pointed out it in
my detailed examination of the website “http://frontpage.netropolis.net/scottcom/”,
the site raises more questions for me than it answers. Since you prefer “short
& sweet” I will just state my questions and wait for the answers. I
don’t know why you would prefer it this way, as it does not give you any
leeway to ignore the issue at hand.
1. Who is the person/are the people who have set up the website “http://frontpage.netropolis.net/scottcom”?
2. Who is the person/are the people who sent the request that is mentioned in the fax from the University of Karachi?
3. What was that
request?
4. Why were there no copies of the request put on the website?
5. Why is a letter dated 5 February 1995 deemed suitable to use in 2000 and not in 1995?
